artist/filmmaker, Basel (Switzerland)
After completing her studies in Fine Arts / German Language and Literature in Kassel (Germany) and Granada (Spain), she studied Film at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (Germany). Apart from audiovisual installation work of this period, her first narrative films already showed a poetic style that eludes conventional storytelling. Her graduation film "Long-distance writing", an outdated technology parable on human relations, is an example in this respect.
After her Studies she dedicated herself to teaching: From 2005-2010 she worked as Assistant Professor for Visual Communication (video) at Bauhaus-University Weimar. In this period, Christina concentrated on dramaturgy and perception; among her credits as a screenwriter is the award-winning puppet animation "Lovesick" by Slovenian filmmaker Spela Cadez. In 2016 she graduated summa cum laude from Bauhaus-University Weimar with a PhD dissertation on "Ambiguity in Contemporary Cinema." Subsequently she gave lectures on her findings at international conferences; they were published e.g. in the Journal of Japanese and Korean Cinema (Intellect) and in a Conference Reader on Artistic Research (Bauhaus-University Press). Since 2017 Christina is lecturer at the College of Art and Design (FHNW), Basel, and at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
